    Vanessa Chidinma Adetshina, the stunning beauty queen who represented Nigeria at the Miss Universe competition, held in Mexico is redefining elegance and poise on the global stage. As a standout representative of African excellence, Vanessa’s captivating smile, sharp intellect, and compassionate heart have won the hearts of many.

    Vanessa’s journey to beauty pageant stardom is a testament to her unwavering determination, and passion for empowering women and girls.     THE 73RD MISS UNIVERSE PAGEANT: A GLOBAL CREATION

    The 73rd Miss Universe pageant took place on November 16, 2023, at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. This spectacular event brought together 125 contestants from around the world, showcasing their beauty, talent, and advocacy.

    Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark was crowned Miss Universe 2024, marking her country’s first-ever win. Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Chidinma Adetshina secured the 1st runner-up spot, solidifying her position as a beacon of hope for African women.

    The pageant continues to raise awareness about pressing social issues such as women’s education and empowerment, access to quality healthcare and climate action.

    CHALLENGES AND CONTROVERSIES

    Vanessa Adetshina’s pageant journey was not without its challenges. In a surprising turn of events, her nationality was questioned, leading to a controversy that ultimately resulted in her official withdrawal from the competition as Miss South Africa.

    The issue surrounding Vanessa’s nationality sparked heated discussions, with some citing concerns over her eligibility to represent South Africa.

    Vanessa’s experience serves as a testament to her resilience and determination. Facing adversity head-on, she chose to prioritize her integrity and values, withdrawing from the competition rather than compromising her identity and later on became to represent Miss Nigeria.

    A SYMBOL OF HOPE: CHIDINMA INSPIRING MESSAGE

    During the Miss Universe 2024 pageant, Chidimma Adetshina delivered a heartfelt message that resonated with people worldwide. When asked about her inspiration, she shared;

    “As a woman who has faced adversity, I feel like I have a powerful story. I don’t stand here as Chidinma Adetshina. I stand here as a symbol of hope, a beacon of faith, as someone who has persevered with grace. I believe I have fought for not only myself, but for Africa.”
